Group strengthens executive leadership as it accelerates regional expansion

Acute Global Limited has announced the appointment of Thato Agatha Sedirwa as its new Chief Investment Officer, effective 1 December 2025. The appointment marks a significant step in strengthening the Group’s executive leadership as it advances its regional growth strategy.

Ms. Sedirwa brings more than 20 years of experience across African financial markets, with a distinguished career spanning financial services, investment management, and corporate advisory. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Actuarial Science from Butler University in the United States, as well as advanced qualifications from the University of Stellenbosch Business School, including a Master of Philosophy in Development Finance and a Senior Management Development qualification.

She joins Acute Global with extensive technical and strategic expertise covering corporate finance advisory, private equity, valuations, capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, due diligence leadership, and environmental, social, and governance systems management.

The leadership appointment forms part of the Group’s broader strategy to deepen its leadership bench and strengthen governance as it expands across the financial services value chain. The Group has rapidly grown its footprint in insurance, fintech, pensions administration, debt collection, and structured financial products, and is positioning itself for further regional acquisitions in 2026 and beyond.

The appointment reflects Acute Global’s deliberate move toward a more professionalised, governance driven management structure capable of supporting scale, complexity, and cross border operations.

Her work has included leading assignments in mergers and acquisitions, capital markets transactions, equity valuations, investor relations, and portfolio performance assessments across sectors such as insurance, mining, telecommunications, FMCG, hospitality, petrochemicals, property, healthcare, and transportation.

Strengthening Corporate Governance and Investment Discipline

In her role as Chief Investment Officer, Ms. Sedirwa will be responsible for strengthening investment discipline, regulatory compliance, internal controls, and strategic reporting across the Group’s subsidiaries. Her experience engaging with regulators such as the Botswana Stock Exchange and the Non Bank Financial Institutions Regulatory Authority is expected to enhance Acute Global’s alignment with regulatory standards and corporate governance best practices.
